What is Fee Billing in the context of a Registered Investment Advisor (“RIA”)?
Definition: This refers to the process of calculating and facilitating the payment of the fee that a client has agreed to pay the RIA for the services they receive from the firm.
When used in an RIA context: “The RIA typically charges their clients an AUM fee. The fee billing process to collect the fees is performed on a quarterly basis.”
