Outsourced Chief Investment Officer
What is an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer in the context of a Registered Investment Advisor (“RIA”)?
Definition: An outsourced Chief Investment Officer provides a way for advisory practices that do not have the scale or demand for a full-time in-house Chief Investment Officer to still be able to access personalized CIO level expertise and services.
When used in an RIA context: “The RIA is not large enough to justify employing an in-house CIO, so they access an outsourced CIO on a fractional basis.”
